Civic Memorials and Civic Monuments are typically more based around events or places than they are specific people. We here at Santa Barbara Monumental have had the privilege of constructing many for the surrounding Santa Barbara and L.A. areas.
Whether bronze wall mounted signage or large granite veteran memorials, we have done it all. As members and leaders in the AICA organization we truly know the meaning of creating big, bold, functional, and awe-inspiring granite monuments.
In this article, we are going to cover:
Civic Memorials are designed to commemorate our leaders and doers. We celebrate the movers and shakers in our towns and in our communities through their amazing and even heroic works.
Our civic memorials showcased here all pay tribute to those community members and veterans that helped build a better future for those to come later on.
Typically, with monument-style civic memorials, we need a lot of surface area to engrave on. This is because we need to physically engrave the names of every hero involved.
With a statue or more personalized civic memorial, the statue will do a majority of the storytelling leaving us only needing to engrave a small portion.
At Santa Barbara Monumental, we use the latest in CNC technology to create the most detailed statue memorials out of bronze, granite, or just about any other stone material available.
We are open to all options and are able to create the memorial of your dreams for any event or ceremony. We just need to be in collaboration with you over the details to help bring the story to life.
The civic memorial you build will literally stand the test of time. Most of our past works last well over 7 generations, it will almost last forever.
Selecting the right color of granite for your veteran memorial project can actually aid in telling more of the hero’s story. We can even mix and match multiple colors or materials to achieve the contrast needed.
The sample photos are a very good representation of the granite we source daily but it is likely that you may see some variation in the color across the stone especially the Rainbow or Bahama Blue Granite. Where some patterns are more uniform like the Blue Pearl or Gray Granite.
All colors considered, it’s best to reach out and speak with one of our expert memorial designers for more details of weekly stock and how long custom pieces will take to get here.
When it comes time to design your desired civic memorial or veteran monument, it is always wise to take your budget into account.
In Santa Barbara and the surrounding area, you can expect to range anywhere from $3,000 – $15,000+ depending on granite size, granite color, and amount of engraving work needed.
Requesting a proposal from our expert designers will get you the quickest quote possible. Our memorialists have crafted many life stories in beautiful granite and cannot wait to begin casting your civic monument in stone.
Now that you have reviewed your color options, design ideas, and even the price range of your desired civic memorial, it’s time to set an appointment. Our Artisan Memorialist, Jed Hendrickson, and his Santa Barbara Monumental Team will engrave their story and make that engraving last for generations to come.
